2015 Grand Reserve

Our Estate Grand Reserve is our most coveted release of the year! This 2015 vintage has rich black and blue fruits, fresh blackberries, black cherries, currants, and stewed plums. Cocoa and baking spices are framed with licorice, violets, and enjoyable tannins.

Due to the limited yields in to 2015, we were only able to bottle less then 80 cases- so this is an extremely limited release!

The 2015 Grand Reserve is a blend of two lots: Cabernet Sauvignon and our Villa Sole Blend.  The Cabernet was hand-picked and delivered to the winery on October 9th, 2015 and the Villa Sole blend was hand-picked on September 23rd, 2015.  The Villa Sole is a co-fermented blend of Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc that surrounds our famed Villa estate.  The lot is also native fermented, meaning ewe simply let the yeast from the vineyard and the air in the cellar do the job.  Post fermentation both lots were pressed off the skins and left to age in about 1/3 new French oak for 22 months before being bottled to only 47 cases on August 24th, 2017.  Each barrel was hand-selected for its superior quality by our consulting winemaker, Matt Smith.

Our Grand Reserve is definitely the wine you want to bring out for a very special dinner.  We crafted this wine to be showcased for such occasions.  Pair this with pan seared Wagyu Tenderloin or Grilled Berkshire Pork Chop with roasted apricots and herbed polenta.

The Grand Reserve is delicious now. Depending on how you prefer your wines, whether you like them to be young and have fresh fruit flavor, drink now thru 2019.  This wine has the potential to store in your cellar (if held properly) for up to 10 years.  If you prefer some age, drink through 2025.
