TASTING NOTES

A delightful mélange of red and black fruits on the nose includes fresh raspberries, stewed plums, strawberries, and blackberry turnovers. Soft and round with structured acidity, the toasted oak character on the palate integrates well with the polished tannins and notes of cherries, strawberries, nutmeg and oregano.

WINEMAKING

Following the precedent set with the 2016 Eros Reserve, the barrel aging time for the 2017 Eros was extended to 20 months to give the wine additional structure and a longer life in the bottle. The result is a plush, rounded and elegant wine that has intense structure but is soft and approachable. All fruit for the 2017 Eros was harvested from the best lots of our Estate vineyard. The wine was blended, filtered and bottled to 640 cases in late 2019.

FOOD PAIRING

This Right Bank Bordeaux-inspired blend can be paired with many grilled meats, including Grilled Pork Chops with BBQ Rub, Grilled Leg of Lamb with Garlic & Rosemary, and small game such as Grilled Rabbit in Mustard Sauce. In addition, Grilled Asparagus Pizza, Soy-Glazed Shiitake Mushrooms and Smoked Gouda are wonderful complements as well.

CELLARING

The 2017 Eros can be enjoyed now and may be enhanced for up to an additional 10-12 years if stored in proper conditions.
